I'm a motivated Journalist from Fort Erie Ontario. I am committed to impactful storytelling and I'm keen to amplify other's voices in their experiences. I've worked in a variety of settings and have propelled my way towards finding my voice in the industry. My work is deeply rooted in community and a desire to find the things that make others passionate.
After writing for the Her Campus magazine I decided to spread my wings into my first journalist job as a reporter for the Fort Erie Observer newspaper where I wrote bi-weekly articles, several of which appeared on the front page. The article I'm most proud of was a day-of story about a destructive tornado in my home town that tore apart the main street. This story gave me the confidence I needed to advance my skills in reporting and interviewing which helped me to become the editor-in-chief of the magazine I started with, Her Campus. I became a delegator, editor and furthered my love for writing.
Eventually I went on to an internship with the Niagara on the Lake Local, further immersing myself with community based journalism and newsroom experience.
As my career develops, my ongoing love for journalism lies in sharing stories that honour people’s real experiences and writing in a way that shows my care and integrity for the field.
